Rooted in Humanity, Driven by Purpose
In a modern world where pauses are few and far between, Tanya immerses herself in the lives of the people she encounters in front of her lens.
“When people feel seen, stories stop being content and start becoming connections.”
She has built her career traveling the globe, documenting lives across cultures, conflicts, and communities, zooming in on the fragments that are often missed.
“I’ve always believed the camera is an invitation - not a spotlight. An invitation into someone’s truth. Their history. Their becoming.
With over 17 years of filmmaking experience and more than 75 international productions involving partnerships with global brands like NBC Sports, National Geographic, Lululemon and World Vision, Tanya brings both creative instinct and emotional intelligence to every set she leads.
From commercial shoots, like the Rugby World Cup in England, to passion projects like The Hojeok Project, exploring the transnational Korean adoption experience and its generational impact; or from quiet unscripted moments to structured scenes, her goal remains the same: to amplify the human connection by shaping narratives with empathy and integrity, while honoring their essence.
“Whether I’m directing a global campaign or documenting a single quiet moment, my responsibility remains the same: honor the story and protect the human at the center of it.”
Beyond directing, Tanya is the co-founder of Unseen, a nonprofit using media to combat human trafficking—an expression of her long-held belief that storytelling is not just an art form. It is a responsibility.
